Watching with morbid curiosity.
Quite amazing to see though.

Scarry stuff, my daughter had 2 heart ops at 12 days old and 3 1/2 years, now 19 but waiting for a valve repair/replacement.
It is facinating watching how they do it but to scary to comprehend when its one of your loved ones.

New Low or New High?
I think it's something we should all have the chance to watch - it beats stuff like "Big Brother" and "I'm a
Celebrity...."

Rosemary, the telephone operator? ...No.
Penry, the mild-mannered janitor? ...Could be!

depends in what style its broadcasted.
if its big brother themed then i would agree.
however if its about educating the masses on these amazing life saving procedures, then surely thats good?
'to inform, educate and entertain' was the proposal from the bbc when it was launched. 2 out of 3 is good going, especially for channel 4.

I watched this last night, very interesing stuff.
BUT. Why have the surgey live, it just made for a clumsy program with the presented and the surgeon often talking over each other and then blocks of
silence as the surgeon was too busy to talk.
Surely a "as live" recorded and then chopped about to give a better view of what was happening program would have worked better?
Also, when they got to the bit with the surgeon getting very technical talking about P1, P2 needing repairs etc, why was there no model of the valve
in the studio with the other surgeon to help explain things better?
