I dont like him. Not sure why, but i preferred it when i didnt know. He keeps referring to the fact that he is a "Racing Driver" and that others arent "Racing Drivers"!

Even to his own admission, hes the mouthiest "racing driver"!

Count the number of times he says "Racing Driver"....

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Faint tone of a band wagon in the distance....

At least Collins wrote a book about it so the fall out of the whole debacle will be book sales that are worth something to his bank account - McCarthy just mouthed off to boost his ego and got canned for it.

I though he did the same, he wrote flat out flat broke then got canned for it, as I remember. I thought the whole Ben Collins writing a book then being outed as the stig etc etc was just history repeating.

I've read Mccarthy's book - I thought that he was very arrogant.

Its inevitable.
Trusting racing drivers to keep silent and hide away their egos.

They just can't do it.

Would be like expecting footballers not to misbehave, the BMA not to complaining about the dreadful deal that doctors get, Tour de France cyclists not taking drugs, oil companies not to deny global warming, and bankers not paying themselves the big money.

And breathe. Bit of a Sunday morning rant there.

Matt

read the book

got to agree with David Jenkins, we may have absolute confidence in our abilities, but when you aren't earning and you are about to lose your house, get a job, look after your family.

Unless you are Perry McCarthy.

Very talented driver, probably unlucky not to get a regular drive in F1, no getting away from the facts that he deserved a chance in racing.

How long ago was he employed by the BBC to be the test driver for top gear?

it wasn't yesterday was it, and without the efforts of the tv station dave wouldn't have the coverage he currently enjoys.

My mistake then - I suppose it shows that Collins did a better job of kicking up a fuss and getting a huge amount of publicity for the book.
