duratec install with a creaking noise

hi guys, when i drive the car i get a strange creaking noise. its an mgb with duratec installed, its really hard to pin point the noise whilst driving, but it only does it when in the lower gears and under load, like when pulling away. Any thoughts?

If it is creaking, maybe it needs oil!

Have you fitted poly bushes on the suspension, or even ordinary new bushes. If you have it could be that you have tightened them up prior to lowering the car down on its wheels, just a thought. HTH Ray

To make a car go faster, just add lightness. Colin Chapman - OR - fit a bigger engine. Chippy

i fitted poly bushes a year ago and it was fine with the previous engine. Perhaps the welding on my chassis mounts arent as good as i thought (arc welding and im not good at it). Engine side mounts were made by a pro. Today i test drove it again and ive also got a noise which im certain is the exhaust as its very close in places and it sounds metalic and hollow.

What's controlling the engine timing?.. From the description of low revs and high load it could be pinking
