Which tyres
We have a solid axle Locost with 13inch 6J wheels. Engine is crossflow and type 9 box
The original Escort had 155/80R13 tyres.
We were loooking to fit 185/70R13 but these seem to be in short supply. If we go to 185/60R13 then there is a wider choice but 4%more rpm
We want a tyre that has good wet and dry grip and looks good, tread pattern wise. We were thinking of Toyo R888 but we are worried about wet
performance ?
A lot of the good tyres do not seem to be available in 13 inch
What have other people used or reccomend ?
Thanks in anticipation
Richard

Avon cr500 as used on a cater ham, meant to be good in the wet as well,
I may have some for sale soon once I change them for other tyres, slicks,

I did the first 10K miles on 185 60 13's and changed to 185 70 13's and so glad that I did. So much more feel, better handling even more
comfortable, better ground clearance, and look great on my wolfrace slotmags.
I got toyo 350's from camskill.com for a total of £150.00 for all 4 - delighted
If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

I've got a set of four 185/70/13 Yokohama S306s with virtually full tread in the shed if they're any use to you?
They were jolly decent on my Monte but won't be going back on as the 13's won't fit over my bigger brakes.

Many thanks for your replies, guys. most helpful
I've just ordered a set of Yoko A021R from George Polley as I really did want to fit new ones
250 pounds delivered. Which seems quite reasonable to me
Cheers
Richard
