can any one recomend some shift lights
hi all
ive been thinking about getting some shift lights for my dad to fit to his MK
i like the look of the LED bar on the trigger wheels site
http://www.trigger-wheels.com/store/contents/en-uk/d50.html#p177
any one out there got these installed and can you give me a review on them.
he has a microsquirt running the engine so the tacho signal would be comming from the coil pack visa the 3 dioeds will these light still work ok ?

I have fitted PZR shift lights
PZRACING LIGHTRONIC UNIVERSAL SHIFT LIGHT SHIFTLIGHT SHIFTLIGHTS
They are very bright,
Easy to install, +ve, -ve, and feed from ecu/coil
Only downside is you have to rev engine to revs you want to shift at to set up unit, ( only once though! )
I think some others you rev to half revs or something similar?

Quite a few of us in the colonies use Ecliptech's - I reckon they're the duck's nuts [no connection etc etc]

Unit is about 70mm wide and centre led is 10mm diameter approx, so quite compact , mine fits nicely on-top of the dash of my Phoenix.

I have the Ecliptech unit - it's very good. No need to rev the engine to configure it, just press buttons. Display dims itself in low light, and
also shows battery voltage. Three wires, dead simple to install.

The other points with these Ecliptechs is that
1 you can print out the shapes available from the website and push them around your dash until you find a happy place - that way you'll
know it's going to fit and you can see it.
2 there are a range of options [12 I think] as to how the shifts lights work [e.g. single light travelling / lights coming on sequentially / big
flash at the rev limitter etc] - click on Display Mode on their site
3 Blind Freddie [me] was able to wire it in in minutes and configure it simply [1st light at 5K through to everything at 7800], though I recall
having to do it once before understanding what the instructions were saying!!!???
As I said before - no connection, just a happy customer
