could anyone tell me if covers are available for the top balljoint and track rod ends if so where can I get some

If you type 'tower external gland' into the screwfix website you will see some fittings that come with plastic glands. Just get some of these and cut the ends off to slide over the track rods. Alternatively, if you're going to Stoneleigh I think that one of the trade stands sells packs of them.

The following picture shows what I used for the top ball joint covers. They are circular wiring connector covers off a BMW in the scrapyard. I was there for something else so they cost nothing. The bit that's over the threaded adjuster lock nut is a walking stick ferrule.

IVA on Friday so I'll know then whether they are acceptable.

I used 40mm cable gland shrouds for top ball joints.
