could some one please explain to me what the difference is between the old book and the new one, as i have the second edition of the one by ron champion (green seven on front cover), is it as simple as the new one is the build using a sierra as a donor, only ask as was thinking of using a capri as a doner but using front hubs etc from a sierra as cortina one are getting like rocking horse s**t , i am aware that the capri axel is wider, and would be happy to modify chassis/body to suit axel, but im not sure if sierra hub and upright will fit if i use this book, could someone please point me in the right direction,

I am using a capri axle on Rons Book chassis. I am making the front wish bones wider to make the track more even.

The new book requires more fabrication imho due to the irs.

i think they need to be 20mm wider, ive seen it some where, but cant think where, what about front hubs and uprights from the sierra, will they fit using rons book

Hi Mark, may be wrong, (and if so sure somebody will soon say), but I think that the wishbones from the book (1&2), will not fit Sierra uprights, those from the Roadster book will. So with a bit of interpolation, you should be able to mix and match. HTH Ray

Making the arms longer and not changing anything else will lower the roll-center height. It might be better, it might be worse, but it will change things. Whether this is an issue to you depends on what you're building it for.

There is a guy that sells the Tina stuff in Wisbeach.

If you buy the Sierra uprights you will need the bottom reaming out to match the taper of the Cortina / Maxi ball joint. That’s going to cost you £20 plus postage or petrol.

So assuming a full recon whether it’s Sierra or Tina. There will not be a lot in the price when all said and done.

To answer your question the main difference will be the front top wishbones need to be longer.
