raptor700 - 26/8/09 at 08:38 PM

i have a gsxr 1000 k5 which is fuel injected, i have the original pump from the tank of the bike in the fuel tank of the kit car then fuel pipe to the throttle bodies, do i need to fit a inline fuel filter or can i do this on a fuel injected engine?

thanks nick

inline fuel filter is a good idea but i think the pump on the K5 has a built in filter on the top as it does on the one i have fitted from a K4 GSXR1000

did you put a filter inline or not bother, how would you clean the one in the tank jst remove the pump an clean?

no i havent used an inline filter
i have serviced the pump and cleaned the filter as it drops out of the bottom of the tank not a big job and doesnt need to be done very often

I have a K4 with inline filter. I also run a seperate fuel pump, not standard.

Personally, I'd put a fuel filter in-line before the fuel rail (just as a failsafe should the pump break up). Make sure the filter is suitable for a fuel injected engine though as the normal plastic/glass ones may not be able to withstand the pressure.
