welderman - 3/6/05 at 04:22 PM

wicket - 3/6/05 at 06:01 PM

A couple of observations

Are the button head bolts fixing the lower ball joints high tensile, they look like stainless steel in the pics.

Is the clamp fastener on the exhaust OK, no sharp edges etc.

Otherwise looks very nice

mblocost - 3/6/05 at 06:06 PM

Hey, nice car...
Can you please tell me where you got those seats from and the bodykit???

welderman - 3/6/05 at 06:09 PM

Its an MK kit, so MK seats, good bunch of lads.
YES bolts are A4 stainless steel. Do they need to be HT bolts(8.8's) .

wicket - 3/6/05 at 07:27 PM

At least 8.8 !!!

Arjan356 - 4/6/05 at 07:00 AM

Arjan

welderman - 4/6/05 at 06:04 PM

Why is that mate. They look ok to me no sharp edges

Mark Allanson - 4/6/05 at 06:09 PM

The braide is slightly abrasive. If you ran someone over, you could give them a nasty graze.

welderman - 4/6/05 at 06:25 PM

If i ran someone over they would have more than a graze i think. But on a serious note will get some overbrade from bike shop.

And got some 8.8 bolts today for front of car.

welderman... its not your seats or harnesses im talking about.... its the gauge that the examiner fits on your seat, he lines up the bubbles on the levels and strikes a cord line back to your harness anchor points. I am wondering if your anchor points are too low for this test?
Have you measured them in relation to the SVA manual info?

Cheers John

No sorry mate, do you know what this measurement is so i can check it out.
Seats are on runners and they are very very close to floor of car. So no way my seats will go down any more.
Have you measured them in relation to the SVA manual info?

Cheers John

Hornet - 4/6/05 at 06:46 PM

u not got messenger?

Ok here goes..

You will need a piece of wood or something 1360 x 53 mm. you need to sit it on your seat. Have a spirit level on the same plane as your anchor points... and the distence between the spirit level and the block of wood needs to be a minimum 450mm.

Cheers john

welderman - 4/6/05 at 07:26 PM

Think ive got that. will have a measure up later on.
Thanks.

17" with offset of 38.
With 215/40/17 on

OX - 5/6/05 at 11:53 AM

im sure that if you pull the top harness straps out straight its not aloud to touch any part of the seat

wicket - 5/6/05 at 05:40 PM

Here's the seat belt anchor point diagram Rescued attachment seatbeltfix2.jpg

welderman - 5/6/05 at 07:37 PM

So if my seat is curved then.
Actual measure from bottom of seat to harness is 540mm but with wood may be smaller gap?

Arjan356 - 5/6/05 at 08:28 PM

215/40/17 !! How did you make it fit??
