cortina disc bolt lock tab question
goodguydrew - 18/2/11 at 11:06 AM

Are these tabs designed to be used twice? There are two fold up tabs for each bolt head, but they are not 60 degrees appart, so only one can be folded up against the side if the hex head. Is the idea to only fold one or do you just fold up the one closest to the correct angle.?

Bin them -- not required just use Loctite 243, 248 or 641 or equivalent on the threads.

In the era of the Cortina no other UK manufacturer used locking tabs on the disk retaining bolts all the others simply used spring washers.
These days manufacturers would use patch lock bolts e.g. bolts pre-coated with thread lock.

If you're really paranoid you can always wirelock them like i did

Thats exaclty it, it means you have double the chance of getting one tab properly bent against a face of the nut.
