RichardK - 19/2/11 at 07:54 PM

Thinking of selling my lathe (photo's in the LCB photo archive) and pillar drill to fund a decent tig set but may have the funds to buy a secondhand tig set if maybe someone got one from the calvinx group buy and doesnt use it now? WHY got??? Obviously would like to keep all my toys if possible

Cheers

Rich

Hi Rich mate

If you do decide to sell your lathe, what would be the selling price? sorry for the blunt question, I was due to buy a lathe but it seems the sale has fallen flat, but still want one.

cheers

I would need to get as close to £500 as possible and would of course chuck the small amount of tooling I have, having said that I would reduce it slightly if I didn't have to clean it up to make it look like it did in the pictures!

Don't apologise for being blunt, I prefer blunt.

Cheers

Rich

Hello Richard

I have a marshall Dynabolt TIG set strapped for single phase, I used to run it via a 63amp isolator straight to the consumer unit, never used it on full power (350 amp) maybe pushed up to 250 amp without issue.

Comes with Miller foot pedal (worth at least £100 on its own) and a couple of torches (air cooled and water cooled) you will need to make your own cooler, I will keep this item but it only cost £40 using a new central heating pump and tank.

Straight swap if you are interested.

Regards Mark

Hi Mark, have googled yours and the pictures I've seen make it look quite big, how big is yours () as I'm short on space and whatever I get will have to be a compact unit.

Cheers

Rich

Huge

You cannot lift it, its on wheels 3' high, 3' deep and 2'wide.

The leads are 15' long so it stays put when you weld.
