new Diff
asl - 8/9/08 at 05:18 PM

Hi. I've got an MK IndyBlade with (We think) a 3.9 or 4.1 diff. I want to change to a 3.38 or 3.62 can anyone point me in the direction of where to buy one?? Thanks

Depends entirely on how deep your wallet is

A brand new Quaife would be around £600

You could trawl for sale section here, Ebay and any other forums.

Or, you could arrange for a swap - most people want the 3.9 or 4.1 - I was always under the impression 3.62 were pretty common.

There's an ally label on the diffs that tell you what it is, most are corroded though..

asl,
If you have a diff with a 4.1 ratio(it'll be 4.09:1), I'll gladly give you 2x 3.62's in it's place. The only IRS ford with that ratio was a scorpio(bug eyed model). U2U me if that's what you have.

If you don't want your 4.1 diff there will be takers for it on this site. 3.62 is common, 3.38 will be rare - they're not being made at the moment and nobody knows when they will - stick a 'wanted' advert up on here and see what happens - thats how I got my 4.4

But that doesn't buy you a crown wheel and pinion....

What asl doesn't say is what type of diff it is, but would I be right in thinking that it'll probably be a Sierra as it's in an MK?
