Kit Car Mag readers with excellent memories?
TimC - 26/8/10 at 09:44 AM

I'm after a bit of help here... a year or more ago one of the magazines carried a series of articles that covered the extensive rebuild of some crazy 70's looking thing - sort of Fugative/Nova in styling.

I remember the rebuild included removing timber that had been laminated into the GRP tub. Anyway, does anyone recall/have this article? I'm after the number of the firm that did the work. If its a landline number it should start 01495....

Sorry my information is so scant, but I know what this 'community' is like with answers...

Cheers!

I'm sure I have it - & virtually certain it was Warp 8, I think they were in Wales?
Won't get a chance till this evening but if no one else gets there first will sort it out then for you!

Didn't this build end half way through?

I think the builder suffered a loss of health and put the project up for sale.

Hi,
Without the magazine, a quick internet trawl finds Mark Jenkins of Blackwood, Wales.
There are a couple of pieces on www.priceofhistoys.com about the Warp 8 and his restoration.
If only I were at home and could grab the CKC mag...

Now ain't that typical - just gone upstairs having checked no one had answred, dug the magazine out, come down logged on & someones answered it about a minute after I checked!!!

Anyway I can confirm the name & phone no. as above - if there's anything else you need from it I now have the article!

was it a worp 8

AdamCKC - 27/8/10 at 07:15 AM

Just caught this thread - and seems you already have your answer! It was indeed the Warp 8, and it did come to a halt part way through due to personal circumstances with the owner. We spoke to him recently and we're hoping to continue the story soon.

Not in Complete Kit Car. If you want to re-read a CKC feature, you'll need to get the PDF from the website
