Hi all
I've just tried using some etch primer on a piece of ally as a test, it went on ok and has dried ok, but its quite easy to scrath off. The paint
is about a year old but both the paint and activator looked ok, does it go bad with age?
Thanks Adrian
sounds like you havent keyed it up enough?
Try 240 grit or 320 grit paper
Etch primer should create it's own key on ally, when you were spraying it did you notice it bubble the surface when first sprayed?
Cheers
Alex
Hi
I did lightly key the surface, and no I didn't notice any bubbling
Adrian
I've had the same thing!
Sprayed my bonnet with brand new etch primer - did sort of notice some bubbling but it doesnt seem to want to stay on anymore than the standard 2k
primer I used on the side panels!
Hmm, maybe our cars will look nice for about the time it takes to drive 10 mins down the road and look like someones taken a shotgun to them....hmmmm!
