herlp.
yesterday i put some bits and bobs on ebay, including a pair of very old weber twin choke carbs. i am now getting mmessages from all over europe and the states asking me to end auction and sell to them. i did not now what they were off but it looks as if they are from a 1950is alfa or maserati. weber 40dco3.
what do i do.

let the auction run. if they REALLY want them, they'll keep trying outbid each other and should work out better for you. they only want you to end it early so they make sure they get them, and get them as cheap as they can

As above - if they're that keen on them make 'em outbid each other. Might also be worth joining a few classic sites and posting a link to Ebay if they're really sought after?

Say "thanks but I'll let the auction run".

There are only two reasons why they want you to finish it early

1) to prevent it reaching the proper going rate
2) they need them in a super dooper hurry

Number 2 is unlikely (unless they're doing a 48 hour restoration of a classic Masserati!!).

IE they're trying to rip you off.

Or they're trying to get you to close the deal off Ebay so they can phish you to death!!!!!

Let it run - and make sure you tell the 'offer makers' that plenty of others want them too - so get bidding!
