Can't decide on next build.

Hi all,

I have completed my last project. (Land Rover tomcat). Now looking for a new project.

I have a locost at the moment but it really has seen better days and I am considering scrapping the chassis and swapping over the running gear onto something new. (Very low milage zetec, type 9 box)

I have about £5000 to spend in total.
I have lots of free time and do enjoy fabrication. Already have all the tools.

What would you do?

For the haynes roadster I was considering buying the chassis pack of e-bay and fitting MK body work.

P.S. Whats wrong with your locost? I looked at your photo archive and it looks quite neat.

If you are looking at the MEV Rocket, have you also looked at their Sonic7? Depends if you want to drive with no side panels or not!

Also, if you are looking at mid-engined options, your Type 9 and diff are not going to be much use, and I'm not sure about other running gear...

Good luck with whatever you do decide to do.

How about a stripped out mini with a bike engine?

I would go for something which will satisfy your fabrication skills in-so-much as it challenges you a bit more than a part built kit.

The mini idea above is a good one but what about plagiarising one of the midi's on here?

I agree seems a shame to scrap it, why not spend a couple of hundred tarting it up (decent rear wings would be starter) flog it for 2 or 3 Thou and build a scratch built own design minimalist middy.
Cheers,
Bob

Build a Haynes Roadster, or at least buy a book.

Please.

Cheers

Chris
