What I have ordered this for?

I have ordered a load of fasteners from the local engineering suppliers and I also ordered a 13mm and an 18mm drill bit.

What have I ordered the 18mm for I can't remember now!!

I knew why when I asked for it!!

The 13mm is for 1/2" suspension bolts, i can remember that!!

headlamp mounting bolts tend to be around 18mm

I am making up my wishbones and finishing off my axle if that helps...

Call me old fashioned, but I bought a 1/2" drill for that size.

I assumed by the time the holes were painted they would be too small if I used a 1/2" or shall I swap my 18mm for a 1/2" instead?

Drill 18mm holes in order to cut m20x1.5 thread for the top BJ!

I'd not take a coat of paint into consideration, use a 1/2 drill

I think that might be it!! I have bought the sleeved inserts now and I am going to turn the piece of steel so I won't need an 18mm drill bit...

.. well not until after I have taken it back anyway!!

Are you using 20mm thread top ball joints?? If so drilling 18mm and tapping the same.
