F*** Authority - 21/7/02 at 10:54 AM

johnston - 21/7/02 at 11:04 AM

yep i think ya should its a bit in 2 ur face

Jon Ison - 21/7/02 at 11:36 AM

yes.......

RoadkillUK - 21/7/02 at 11:51 AM

In short yes.

It's the type of name that a prepubescent schoolboy may find amusing, not that I intend to insult, but probably have

UncleFista - 21/7/02 at 12:12 PM

Yeah, change it

Its not that its insulting to me, its just so blatent, theres no hidden depths if you get me. Try a name that seems unassuming but hides darker sexual connotations... Like mine

bass - 21/7/02 at 04:44 PM

yes, we don't need it

john_s - 21/7/02 at 05:13 PM

Yeah, change it.

John

scutter - 21/7/02 at 05:33 PM

Jasper - 21/7/02 at 05:55 PM

Macca - 21/7/02 at 06:48 PM

Jim - 21/7/02 at 07:08 PM

F*** Authority - 21/7/02 at 07:41 PM

Ian Pearson - 21/7/02 at 07:50 PM

I thought this site was about building cars?! I guess it's time I read the membership rules. I presume there are some??

merlin - 21/7/02 at 07:51 PM

the last person who upset the 'flow' got removed from the site. Get a life! and while you're at it get a new name! and let's get back to the subject of the site instead of wasting time on crap like this!

Ian Pearson - 21/7/02 at 07:53 PM

In fact, sling this guy off the list.

F*** Authority - 21/7/02 at 07:53 PM

ok then point taken, i know when im not wanted. bye

Pennywise - Fuck Authority, a little misguided but a good song never the less. hicost your 14 year old son will probably like it.

Ian Pearson - 21/7/02 at 07:54 PM

Couldn't agree with you more Merlin.

F*** Authority - 21/7/02 at 07:57 PM

last post i promise. there were a few posts while i was typing the last one. all my posts were about locosts until someone complained about the name. i made this topic to hopefully back up my opinion that my name didnt matter, and the content of my posts were what mattered.

merlin - 21/7/02 at 08:07 PM

I think I speak for most if not all of the builders on this site, We don't have a problem with ANYONE who is interrested in building a Locost and are more than willing to help. The problem is that there are a lot of young folk who are reading this site with their dads (my 6 year old son for one!) and there is no need for abusive language for ANY reason. Continue with your Locost posts and we will continue to help BUT CHANGE YOUR NAME.

Debate closed I hope!

Macca - 21/7/02 at 09:01 PM

I think its a little sad that time is being wasted on this kind of thing. Lets get back to real peoples issues.

Alan B - 21/7/02 at 09:55 PM

Well I did open a can of worms didn't I?

Mr FA I did not complain, just asked would you mind changing your user name and then asked for everyone else's opinion.
That opinion has been totally unanimous "please change it"
We all are little rebellious, after all "normal" people don't build their own cars Surely, that is enough to stand out from the crowd without resorting to a unecessarily controversial username.

Surely you could see that people were asking nicely at first? What is the point of joining a group to get some assistance then alienating the very people that could help you?

I did ask in my first post whether it was me just a little out of touch, but it seems that I wasn't.

RoadkillUK - 22/7/02 at 02:17 AM

Chris, would it be possible to delete this thread as it lowers the tone of the forum, thanks.

ChrisW - 22/7/02 at 01:32 PM

Just about to close this thread as I think it's getting out of hand.

FA - the official line is this: I've recieved a number of complaints via email. If you send me an alternative name I'll be happy to make the change. There are no issues with you personally, just people find the name offensive and would prefer it to be changed. You are still welcome on the forum once your name has been changed.

Chris
