The Curse Strikes Again..... (Bu--er!)

So the first track day we tried was called off due to fog.

Due to do Barkston Heath tomorrow. So took it to Tiger for a tune and power run, all of which was fine. 160hp on the rollers form a 2.0 Zetec on Webers, very pleasing.

Temp started to rise on the way home. Seemed actually to be a faulty sender since all was OK, coolant running, hoses warm, thermostat housing touchable - if the sender's OK to touch it isn't really at 120! But stopped, cooled, changed the sender, swapped the thermostat for an empty thermostat housing to take that out, and refilled the coolant.

Trouble started when I bled the radiator top screw. Nice fountain of coolant, few bubbles, coolant, nipped it up finger tight and tried to tighten it properly.

Wobbling loose as a wossname and leaking coolant everywhere.

B--r.

Too late, too dark, and I haven't got any more coolant to redo it anyway. So I'll fix it tomorrow, probbaly quite easily, b ut Yet Another Track Day Off.

I'm going for a beer or two.

It's a (freely spinning) rivnut

Easy enough to sort, but not in the dark and I haven't any spare.

Not keen to drill it without flushing afterwards, don't want swarf in the system!
