Torrent sites allegedly are the places to go.

I'd like a map for my mobile as it has to download the free msn maps as I go along. Not good for driving in the country with no signal. I'm having the same problem as you. It seems just the tom tom software is around £80 to buy.

Its no wonder people rip off software so often.

I thought if you had a say a Tom Tom that was UK you could go on line and upload the latest Uk map for free and so on. Is that not the case. I was gonna do it with my Euro one just before i go to Le Mans?

They're using the same trap as printer makers use on their customers, i.e. printers are cheap but the ink cartridges are expensive - GPS units are relatively cheap, but the map updates are very expensive.

Saying that - I bet that the maps are their greatest investment in time and money, far more so than the units themselves.

If anyone knows where to get North American maps for an RAC gps (bought at Curry's in Canterbury a couple of months ago), I'd like to know too!!
