Make sure it's real vinegar, the last cheap stuff I looked at was "Chip shop style, none-brewed condiment" or somesuch

Do you like pickled onions ?

Buy loads, get the vinegar for free ?

alistairolsen - 11/6/09 at 01:55 PM

Hate them!

Asda malt vinegar, 36p per pint.

Tesco wont let me browse prices without signing up.

costco, if you have a card or know someone who has, will almost certainly sell it in gallon containers.

One of the pubs near me sells vinegar.

Trouble is it's £2.70 a pint.

Tesco Malt Vinegar, 75p for 1.14 litres

Fozzie

Edit to add:----- They do have Tesco Value Vinegar at 13p per 568 ml, but reading the 'notes' it is 'spirit' vinegar, so therefore not 'quite' the same

thunderace - 11/6/09 at 03:22 PM

can i ask why you need it?

scootz - 11/6/09 at 03:27 PM

Another thumbs up for Tesco value! Good acidity content too (I assume you're going to be soaking some nuts and bolts with it?).

Macbeast - 11/6/09 at 03:51 PM

Depends what you want it for but in that quantity I assume it's for cleaning, in which case white vinegar (is acetic acid ) is what you want.

stevec - 11/6/09 at 04:17 PM

Any Wetherspoons pub, from £1.50 a pint.
