Suspension and steeering analysis sorfwear
colintvr - 16/8/09 at 01:01 PM

This is a a plea for help and I hope is posted in the best place.
I want to do some geometry analysis of my car's chassis and have found recommendations elsewhere for softwear (both free and pay type) but fear my aptitude for computers etc. may be very evident early on!
I can do side and front views on a drawing board but want to be able to speed things up and also to see how things like scrub and trail move with lock.
My car is a '72 Mseries TVR but as you will recognise is not a million miles from your own types ie. SLA front and back.
Do you have or know of anyone who would be prepared to help me?
I live in Manchester and work in mechanical engineering, and can travel if necessary. Obviously I would be happy to see any uses for yourselves deciminated through your forums.
Hope you can help, Colin.

there's a few free ones on the interweb if you search for them, there's one called suspension analizer or something, must be american. i think its a 30day free trial, don't know if its any good. seemed alright, but i didn't understand how it works, and now i don't need to know. but at the price its worth a shot

ok thanks so far. I am hoping if I get to use a detailed program that I can find someone who has done it before.
Like most things it's just getting over the hump of learning.
A pro recommended I tried either:
wishbone.bas or
susprog3D or
CarSim
I dont know if any of your members have heard of these or tried them.
Colin.
