just read your thread over there. I too did mech eng (did maths first) but didn't want to work with cars as a job. I like the build though!

I build cars because I want to, not because I have to.

Your approach to building a brake system is very similar to mine.

there seems to be something fundamentally wrong with your build........... you have a bike engine in the shed and not a car engine

I used Diahatsu Applause rear calipers. They're tiny and have a handbrake.


And fit in a 13" rim.

My step-mum had an Applause, the rear handbrake was very prone to sticking on. Common fault according to the dealers, caused by wear on the actuating cam inside the caliper.
