Forum T shirts

Has anybody done this already i.e. come up with a logo and name so that, if we go to a show and do not know any of the other members of this forum by sight we can regognise them by their apparel? It's just that I had an idea for a name for us (collectively) and a logo idea the other day whilst motoring along the queens highway to collect my Luego. The name would be The Plague (paraphrasing the bible a bit, as in Plague Of Locosts' geddit?) and the logo would feature varius caricature drawings of locosts/MKs/STs/ Luegos etc emerging from a central 'rip'/smashed down wall/whatever on the fron of the shirt. Either a space could be left on the front or a sleeve logo could be added for our forum name so's we'd know who we were addressing. Good idea or lame crap? Please let me know as I quite like the idea.

Hmmm, do I see a subject for a poll coming up? My personal vote would be for the fashion victim fraternity with a no. Maybe I'm a snob, but I hate the term "locost", so much as I love the forum, I'd never wear any clothing with it on and I'd torch my car before I put any locost "branding" on it. One problem with "the plague" is that it's likely to cause confusion with the locUst car, which is definitely not something I'd like to be associated with (again, call me snob). I think the most acceptable option for me would be a small, subtle logo of some description on the chest, although the prospects of a "uniform" kinda turns me off. I can see there are merits in having some way of easily recognising other forum goers at events though.

OK, maybe The Plague is a bit lame. Errmm, hows about The Unconventionalists as I think this sums up the motley crew on 'ere quite nicely!

JoelP - 10/4/04 at 08:07 AM

i reckon a baseball cap, with the slogan 'Mugs 'R' Us', since we are all delusional in believing sports cars can be built at home...

phelpsa - 10/4/04 at 08:44 AM

We are not delusional, we are just..

...Special

Thats the word.

theconrodkid - 10/4/04 at 09:20 AM

something like "£250-00 yea right"

Peteff - 10/4/04 at 11:02 AM

As long as they're not checked brown ones. I reckon they should have an ally plate pop riveted to the front to put your vin number on.

chrisg - 10/4/04 at 01:27 PM

I'm sorry but baseball caps say" I drive a nova with blue washer jets" to me.

Cheers

Chris

Alright Chris, all the Yorkshire based members can have flat caps and a sticker for the whippet that says "Me other dog's a Jack Russell".

chrisg - 10/4/04 at 06:01 PM

You'll just stick with the wellies and the velcro trousers then Pete?

(to stick your sheep/girlfriend on)

Cheers

Chris

Could be HIPPY

Peteff - 21/4/04 at 09:37 PM

He meant the car not the cap . Sorry Dave, oh no it's Surrey Dave. I'm getting all muckin fuddled now. I'm a fan of trilbies now since they were made fashionable by Mark and Lard (sadly missed) and have started a collection of various types of headgear which includes a deerstalker. No Chris it's not a sheepstalker.

Surrey Dave - 22/4/04 at 07:44 AM

He may have meant the car , but I'm still not sure if the 'Flat Cap' works in a '7' if you're south of Watford..........

pbura - 22/4/04 at 09:27 AM

This business of what hat to wear is extremely serious, and probably deserves its own forum topic

It seems like most hats make the wearer look like either a twat or an idiot. Silliest car hat I've seen was a cloth aviator helmet on an old duff in a Bugatti replica, made him look like Gyro Gearloose.

I'll probably go for a baseball cap, bill in front, in some drab color with no team markings, and hope I don't have objects thrown at me, or be beaten up by a motorcycle gang.

Spyderman - 22/4/04 at 12:29 PM

A flat cap is the ideal headgear in an open top car as if worn at the correct angle can aid in downforce creation!

Unless you are south of Watford Gap and then flat caps are only worn by Tarts!

Mark H - 23/4/04 at 10:19 AM

headgear of choice with aeroscreen: Helmet!

Primarily because i can see when i go over 40mph.

Also good for deflecting empty evian bottles from soft top beemer drivers. Or Tenannts super empties coming out of an ex-taxi 405. Tw@'s

barrie sharp - 13/5/04 at 09:40 PM

DaveFJ - 18/5/04 at 10:54 AM

Hi,

As mentioned earlier we don't want any confusion between LOCUST and LOCOST the Locost being a Westfield copy and the Locust a visual copy of a Lotus 7, that has been around for the past 24 years.

The Locust Enthusiasts Club already has a full range of T-Shirts, Sweatshirts and Baseball Caps, just though you'd best know.
