Info: Gross weight / Kerb Weight?
Tipster69 - 10/3/10 at 10:40 PM

Hi,

This is going to sound stupid. But I am unsure on how this works regarding "kerb weight"

Front Axle = 400Kg, Rear Axle = 550Kg Gross Weight = 950Kg

Does this mean the weight of the car is 950kg?

gross weight is max weight of car including ocuppants and any luggage or load.

Gross weight and Gross axle weight are the max that the veihicle can be loaded to, inc occupants and luggage.

The total of the 2 axle gross weights can be more than the total gross to allow for unequal loading (ie axle1 450, axle2 550, tot' 900) but it can't be less.

Kerb weight is the weight of the vehicle without luggage/occupants, but with all fluids (fuel, oil, water, etc).
