how many copies of "the book" have been sold?

That is of course how to build a sportscar for £250

I have no idea, but at one point I heard it was Haynes biggest selling book

I wouldn't be surprised, it was, in first and second editions, reprinted regularly according to the front cover.

It's not like a single make manual would sell more.
