Serious exhaust and silencer problem
James - 6/5/10 at 02:51 PM

I've got a serious exhaust and silencer problem...

... I've lost them!

You know how it is... it's small, easy to mislay so you put it somewhere safe.

Hmmm... how the hell has this happened?

There's only 3 places they could sensibly be (one is a totally empty garage) and I've searched them!

I want the manifold as I want to mod it to fit my car!

Grrrr!

Cheers,
James

pikeys in the night

cd.thomson - 6/5/10 at 02:53 PM

i blame the garage elves.

OR

Pikeys

fesycresy - 6/5/10 at 03:04 PM

Have you looked in the attic? Or as in my case cable tied to the undersize of the garage roof?

Or maybe in the bottom draw of the tool box?

Ignore the last one, it's daft, almost as daft as losing a complete exhaust

coozer - 6/5/10 at 03:26 PM

Checked the spare bedroom? That's where my stuff is going atm... including the Beamish!

balidey - 6/5/10 at 03:29 PM

If you left it outside then this may explain whats happened to it....

whitestu - 6/5/10 at 03:41 PM

Have you looked on the car?

I spent ages looking for a misplaced rose joint, and after ordering another I found the original one attached to the car!

MikeRJ - 6/5/10 at 03:47 PM

I lost a a brand new, boxed, nitro engined, 1:8 scale RC Stadium truck a few years back.

I remember putting it in the loft just to temporarily get it out the way and I've not found it since despite numerous full scale searches. It's just vanished.

That's been my suspicion too.

The thing is, wouldn't they have nicked something else from the garage as well? Like the car? Or atleast some tools other stuff?

Going to go back with a torch so I can see properly in the 'eves' of the garage in case I put it there. It's not very strong up there though so will be surprised I thought it a good idea to put it there in the first place!

Very weird!

l0rd - 6/5/10 at 04:26 PM

try to remember when you got it, Where were you?

did you do anything with it?

Ben_Copeland - 6/5/10 at 04:28 PM

Left it outside and the scrap metal pikeys have been round....

They took an exhaust out of a neighbours garden this morning, didnt ask. Hope they didnt want it !!!!

contaminated - 6/5/10 at 04:32 PM

Coopz - 6/5/10 at 04:36 PM

Sadly not... I know this as it's 1-2" short for my wider car and it needs modding first!

blakep82 - 6/5/10 at 05:29 PM

where did you put it when you lost it?

skinned knuckles - 6/5/10 at 05:39 PM

i have a torque wrench that is currently hiding from me too. garage elves are evil things

l0rd - 6/5/10 at 05:50 PM

when you got it, was it packed? Did you leave it in the box or did you left it like that?

Try to think where you were.

norfolkluego - 6/5/10 at 05:56 PM

Have you checked under the duvet, that's where my grandson hides

'Spare' jeans maybe, it's always in your spare jeans

kipper - 6/5/10 at 06:05 PM

I would ring you to discuss but I have lost my phone
It was on the bench, then I went to use it.....gone. tried ringing the number....nothing? Oh well it is probably with the brand new rad cap I bought last week, that too has absconded.
Denis.

norfolkluego - 6/5/10 at 06:50 PM

Maybe it's just popped out to vote?

Check the garden, probably full of summer flowering plants by now!

JoelP - 6/5/10 at 09:01 PM

i lost two of my favourite screwdrivers on a job this week. Searched high and low after the first went, got out my spare and that vanished too. I searched everywhere. Its just so damned annoying because you know in reality it IS there somewhere, but i end up walking round in circles with a headache At least its only a fiver to replace!

40inches - 8/5/10 at 10:42 AM

Lost a 3/8th ratchet last week, strange thing is I was using it at the time , put it down, fitted next bolt, turned round to pick up ratchet, gone
Next day Wife asked why I had left a ratchet in the upstairs loo????
Ever had that strange feeling when you drive somewhere and can't remember the journey? Can this happen when you are walking around at home?
If the above has never happened to any one else, should I be worried

kipper - 8/5/10 at 02:03 PM

nah, don't worry about it, I often get to the top of the stair and think ......why am I here? turn round and go back down.
It's an age thing.
Denis.

Wandering out to the van, staring at it and thinking, what's that ? I had a pair of red handled pliers which were my favourites and when I couldn't find them it was because they had mysteriously turned blue

Nah! they are still red, it's your eyes, you must have gone colour blind, not another age thing is it

l0rd - 9/5/10 at 11:08 PM

So?????

Where is the exhaust? Did you find it?

My thing is that i always have to go back and make sure that I have locked the house, the car etc...

OCD? ageing? God knows.

Just an update for those of you on tenterhooks as to did I find it....

No! I bloody didn't. Searched the loft space of the garage roof. Emptied my council garage. Cleared out my parents garage.

It's gone! Some git musta pinched it. Can't bloody believe it!

Fortunately I didn't buy it new but really disappointed even so!

Cheers,
James
