Best 'n' worst!
Sparky - 24/8/02 at 06:08 PM

Right then, you've built your chassis, panelled it up and have installed all the running gear. You've hit the road and you love it!

But what is the best part of your build? Which bit are you oh-so-proud of, can't resist showing passers by, wax lyrical about down the pub?

Conversely, which bit do you stare at and cringe? What little in-built gremlin jumps out at you every time you look at the car? What part would you do again if you could? Or is it sooo bad, you won't tell us!

What's your best 'n' worst?

Sparky, good idea for a topic

I'm only part way through but here goes:

best....

Probably the front suspension

worst...

although not yet finished there's bound to be some feature of the body that I'll wish I'd done differently

Worst: The back wheels don't sit in the centre of the arches (to be addressed)
Wiring, not my best skill. Would buy a ready made harness next time.
GRP bodywork. Take a tip from me, buy the best quality you can get your hands on!
Best: The rest!

best havin pratically everything sitting ready costing nowt

worst not having enough money, time, space to buy build or keep chassis at the minute

most frustrating

Yes, Jon, now that you mention it... I love your car - goes like stink, looks gorgeous, etc. etc.

...but your back panel!

Would make 100% improvement if those top curves were sorted.

But you have my sympathy, as I tore off my original back panel 'cos I hated the first results. Looks good second time round, fortunately.

cheers,

David

i may do it over the winter.....but when i get my boot lid sorted you won't see the wrinkly bits......

hear's a pic of my rear end, as taken from PTM's car on our run up to "cat n fiffdle".

must sort it soon.........

just like jon ison i hate my rear panel
and why oh why did i stick a f*****g spare wheel out the back as well, just to lug around about 3 stone of wasted material that will never be used, as i carry a bottled tyre!! in the boot
best feature (in my opinion before old locodude pops another) is the interior all home brewed and came out of the bottle 10 times better than i thought
