My First Prescott Run
twybrow - 19/7/10 at 09:35 PM

I was lucky enough to be put on the guest list at this weekends Bugatti Owners Club summer picnic, which included all sorts of Bugattis, Ferraris, Jags, Porsches, etc on show, and non-competitive runs up the Prescott hill. I have watched the hillclimbs a few times now, and never thought I could drive it, so it was with great pleasure I handed over my £10 for 3 runs!

I did a total of 6 runs in all, and all but one was with a passenger (the Mrs, some randoms). The record for the best question came from a 9 year old boy, whose Dad asked if he could have a ride. Very calmly he said, "So, do you know the Queen too then....?"

Anyhow, see some pictures below of some of the cars, plus mine in action, and hopefully a couple of links to some videos...

The Mrs as passenger (listen for the girly scream!)

A view from half way up (me again!)

What a day out, and what an experience. Awesome. Can't wait for next year, and fingers crossed I get an invite!

Prescott is an excellent venue and I would say my favourite hillclimb course.

Yeah, the marshal commented to my mrs, that I would go faster if I kept my mouth shut! I don't know why I do it, and I don't know why they wouldn't let me run with my helmet on!

I think I was watching a veyron do that course earlier on youtube, what a lardy car, but it didn't half shift on the straighty bits

Your car looks far more at home there, well done, would love to have a go.

Oh yeah, got to build a car first, doh!

If you warn yourself when you are about to start you should find you're less likely to scream.

It looks excellent, I'm most envious.

Suspect no helmets is something they do when its not a timed run but a fun run up the hill.

If you've got a helmet on you're racing, if you haven't you're having a drive.

(plus some people may go a little slower without a helmet)
