Don't think you'll find them any cheaper though unfortunately, adaptors like that are fiddly and time consuming to make and dont sell in huge quantities. Its not like they buy hundreds of them in huge boxes from china, they're a fairly specialist part :-/

Being tight i tried to get away with not paying that ........ your option is to get a 7/16 brake union, bit of pipe and flare it....

6 pounds isn't that bad when you consider what you have to do to bodge it.

Plumbers merchants, but will be in steel and the tube end will be multi fluted.

3 of them, 2m of brake filler hose, flexi filler hose £70 delivered.......

Oldest trick in the book not including VAT on the listing!

IMO that price is extortionate, but as pointed out its a volume thing.....the part is actually quite simple for an auto lathe and I'm sure you get a 1000 for well under a grand......less than a quid, possibly much less.

However, what are your options?

Fork out big money and hope you can sell them?
Make what you need?.....going to cost way more in time.
Search for a cheaper option?....how long will you search before you wish you'd just bought them?

Or of course bite the bullet and buy them anyway?

Certainly not a no-brainer.

having looked for something cheaper, got the parts of make something cheaper ........ its far easier to just buy it from them and accept its not cheap.
