Right - here we go. My No. 1 son & I built a LSISC each a few years ago, him a Dax 'Busa Rush, me a RH. Both have been moved on a while ago
(though the pics of my RH are still in the photo archives on here) and the (shed) replica Ford Model 'A' I got and spent two & a half
years restoring (and only a few weeks driving!) (pics also on here) has also been moved on.
Now we have an empty spacious workshop dying to be utilised (both of us are Virgo hence creative with itchy build fingers) No. 1 son wants to get into
750 Locost racing, not with a car in any way for the road (his experiences in the Dax left him feeling too vulnerable in that sort of car) but purely
for track use.
Any tips anyone for how we proceed now?
(Also sincere apologies for not posting on this forum for so long!!!)
Welcome back, can't help with any info on racing but would you be better off posting in the racing section of the forum?
If I had a few £K spare, myu choice would be:
Get looking for a prebuilt car - Nothing worse than crashing a car (or worse still some one else crashing in to you) when youve spent months (if not
years) building it.
(750mc website has a classifieds)Ive seen cars with spares at arounf £5k.
Then get yourself 'go racing' pack from the MSA (www.msauk.org), get a licesne and pass the ARDS test.
Then get racing. If you want to be competive then you'l want a add quite a few more £k on that budget

Drop Matt (user name: Procomp) on here a U2U. He'll point you in the right direction.
Thnx for the quick replies guys - had a quick look in the Racing section, but still not quite sure what my lad wants - he mentioned 750 when he phoned
me from work this morning, & aint home yet, but I thought he wanted to build/acquire something escort-engined.

Hi pete,
1st try to check out cars at a race meeting, (see 750 website for schedule)
you will find vehicles in various state of refinement from showroom to well bashed, but still running together.
I would suggest buying a existing race car. There will be a few at the end of the season.
Building one fron a kit or chassis up is time consuming and expensive when getting all the extra bits like belts, transponder, extinguiser etc.
try and get to Snetteton on the 18/19 Sept. and have a chat with the lads & lasses. look me up, no 67
Thanks again for the further replies - he is home from work now and it seems that BECs are OK. He is now carrying out much research. I'll keep
you all posted.

To clarify...
The 750 Motor Club (www.750mc.co.uk) organises numerous race championships. It is possible to run a Locost or derivative of a Locost in three of
these formula, as follows:
Hi
If you need any specific Q's answered regarding the Locost championship or the Kit car championship feel free to drop me a line I have detailed
knowledge of both championships.
There are no specific forums currently running regarding the Locost or Kit championships. However there is a dedicated forum for the RGB championship
which can be found HERE
As mentioned Silverstone is going to be a good opportunity to see all formulas competing and also let you get a good look at the specifications of the
cars and the likely costs.
Or if you like i usually have cars from all three of the championships in the workshop if you fancy taking a good detailed look over / under / round
them.
cheers Matt
