Hi Guys,
My kit car is now approaching a finished stage and I don't want it getting bashed up in my single garage. My parents have a habit of dumping
stuff in the garage and i can see the car getting bumped about!
Need some ideas on a suitable cover that could be easily removed (to work on the car in the garage)
... but strong enough to prevent damage to the bodywork if something falls on the car.
I was thinking a wooden case, similar to this:

but stored inside the garage.
any thoughts guys?
Many Thanks
Stu
Might sound a bit daft BUT, what about bubble wrap?
Agree with above.
Bubble wrap,
Old Blankets,
Polytarp - But cover car with a sheet or blanket first, as polytarps are a bit hard / scratchy IMHO.
Also dont cover right to the ground, ie so there is somve ventilation around the car.
OR...
Buy a Staple and Hasp, along with a decent padlock... that will stop those interfering parents
haha, they are a nightmere. They just dump stuff in the garage and yet there's plenty of storage space.
Think its the classic problem of old people refusing to throw anything away.
My dad used to keep his 3 series in the garage and it was covered in small dents from clambering over it over the years.
I'm thinking a hard cover would give a better chance of preventing damage to the kitcar

i found a garden strimmer leaking 2 stroke fuel laying across my bonnet once...
How about a cheap argos/ebay car cover? I used one over my spare engine when that was left outside over the winter.
Hows you car going Stu?
I use "Duvets" and only 2 single ones cover my 7 very nicley, and at £6.48 in Asda, there very cheap as well
They are quite good at fire protection as well.
How do i know ?? a good old garge fire at my house, pretty well evrything destroyed or smoke damaged, , yet the 7, was hardly touched
I got the 13.5 tog, so it keeps warm in the winter !!

build a rabbit hutch out of thin wooden lats can cover sides with bubble wrap so you just drive it in and get out.
i had one in my garage in last house for the lambo body to stip it getting damaged.
worked well.
just like a wooden frame with cross lats and then wrapped in dust sheet from screwfix for £6.
means that it dont get scratched easy.
:O)
bubble wrap will scratch ye car if you get heavy dust on it.
