What an idiot

Had the car running checking for leaks and a few sensor changes, after 10min it starts to get lumpy/refuse to rev then idle Then not start at all............

So I checked the plugs as it was misfiring just before it cut out, they seemed fine but I still fitted a new set I had..... still no joy

Check all earth connections.... no joy

Start panicking about engine compression etc etc....

then remember the fuel pressure was half what it should be...... Check the tank..... bone dry

Does anyone else always think worse case first during a build!?

I've been telling myself KISS ever since!

I dont remember that far back ito my build, but probably !!

I do however remember questiong my self on wether evrything was tight and secure, as i must of gone round the car tightening everything (that was bloody tight anyway) about 20 times

i was doing the wiring and connecting the starter button (on bike engine) i know everything was connected right checked the wiring diagram over and over but it just wouldn`t turn on the button then the next day still scratchin my head i couldn`t understand what it was, looked at the wiring diagram again traced every wire and it then clicked, it was in gear went in the garage checked and yes it was in gear put it into nutrel and it turned over! and your right, you start thinking the worse when it something so simple!!

I ran out of fuel several times during my build. First time had me fooled for a while.

Im worrying about mine already, and it hasnt even started yet!

I should have checked first. without the lamba sensors connected it runs a little rich

Plan now is tidy the garage, write a list and work through it.

I spent a very long and increasingly worried time trying to bleed the brakes on my fiat x1/9 by applying air pressure to the hydraulic clutch resevoir (they are in similar containers next to each other by the bulkhead).
The really stupid thing was I had done the job a few times before correctly.
