Beaver34's thread on carb tuning got me thinking, so did a quick search and found TI KRYPTON 312 ENGINE ANALYSER NO RESERVE on eBay (end time 17-Dec-10 15:39:12 GMT), not far from me and I'm sure it will go in the L200, but can anyone give me an idea how big these things are? looks to be about the size of a tool cabinet then the overhead arm.....

Got one in my workshop. I'll measure it tommorow. From memory the main unit is approx 30"x14"x18" (WxHxD). I don't have the cabinet though.

If it's the model I'm thimking of about 5-6 feet tall 3 feet wide and about 2-3 feet deep.

about the size of a crt telly.
looks about 60,s tho and of little use on anything remotley modern or complicated,just about handle points dwell,timing,volts and amps.
you can get things that do more that fit into your pocket.
i dumped a much better/bigger/later one than that when a part failed and we couldnt get replacement as itr was too old

Is that for a steam engine?

Not sure its much use on anything modern, its an old analogue model, doesnt look like its got a scope or gas analyser. Only really any good for setting up / diagnosing ignition on anything with points / condensor and a dizzy but not much else. Timing light may be of use but thats a lot of workshop space !!

As has been said, it's only any use on classics and needs a CO meter used with it for the best results. It comes in usefull (very) occationally.
Without the stand it's small enough not to take up too much space and for me to keep. It's small enough to carry (handle on top) with one hand... just.

OK Thanks all, thought it might be usefull for keeping the E Type in tune, but if it doesn't have a CO meter built in its no good, I'm on MJLJ ignition, so I guess it offers less than the vacuum gauges, timing light, colourtunes and PC I use now.

i got a mini one new on ebay its about 30cm x20cm x20cm cost around £40 ,never used it as i dont have a clue how it works lol just looked good lol
