My car is already road registered, so IVA intricacies are not essential. That said, I want to be sensible, so there won't be anything overly
daft - I want it to remain MOT and C&U friendly.

As safe a place as any, if not safer than under!
Having said that, I'd probably want to make sure you've got a prop retainer of sorts (regardless of whether you're running pipes/wires
down there).
You can however I would question using steel braided, fuel hose can weep, brake hose can flex, steel or copper fuel line and copper brake hose is more
durable and a lot cheaper.
Some form of protection incase the prop let's go, I know people that this has happens to.
I don't know why more people don't use a false tunnel top and run it all through there, easy to get at.

nah, the iva just says it has to be fit for purpose basically, and adequately supported.

Just questioning the use of braided hose. Why use a component that is more expensive and has a shorter service life than copper pipe, when the
benefits of flexibility are not necessary?
I have used copper pipe and then fitted it inside thick walled neoprene tubing sealed at both ends. This has the corrosion resistance of copper, and
also the impact and abrasion resistance of neoprene in an exposed location. And its neat and cheap.
I hear what you're saying, and agree you're probably right... but I just think braided looks better.
I don't see the worry with braided hose's. They've been used on bikes for years, they're only small runs too. They can
flex/move and are easier to work around. Plenty of pukka race cars at goodwood have fully braided systems so they can't be bad
