Why do i bother, and anyone handy in lincs
chrisxr2 - 29/3/11 at 04:02 PM

Taxed the car early today to take advantage of the good weather, FAIL. Spitting and running like a bag of poo still. Nice and clean now though. Anyone in lincolnshire good with webers and pintos want to cast an expert eye that would be magic. Otherwise saving the pennies to get it trailered somewhere to be looked at as its not running well enough to be driven anymore than a couple of miles to get fettled.

Take it to Bogg Brothers. Not too far away I guess....

Or, take them off, flog them, put bike carbs on, have a knees up with the cash left....

Thats the plan, need to find someone to trailer it first, there is a rolling road about 20 miles from me, but bogg are the way to go i think.

where abouts in lincs are you?

chrisxr2 - 29/3/11 at 05:07 PM

Alma park top end of grantham.

I had family there Chris , Bottesford to be exact. Doesn't help your running probs I know, sorry

Boggs would be best but Tiger are down the road at Thorney Toll. They have a RR.

franky - 29/3/11 at 07:14 PM

There's some very good places in lincoln but I guess its too far?

kipper - 30/3/11 at 02:44 PM

I have recently taken my Webbers off the crossflow and fitted zx9 carbs on a Bogg bros manfold,,,,,,,,,what a difference, clean accelation. smooth running, and I think better performance, and this is before rolling road session.
The bike carbs are also much lighter.
The only downside for me was I had to cut a large hole in the bonnet to clear the bellmouths and filter.
Regards Denis.

I am in south Lincolnshire and other than Tiger have not found a single decent rolling road that wants to do 40/45's.

The two best options are Northampton Motorsport or Lynx just outside Northampton

Will have a crack at balancing the carbs myself see if that helps, if not can always send them off to bogg brothers or get someone with a trailer to lend me a hand for some beer tokens. Franky lincoln should be doable fairly easy, there is also sleaford mini centree RR they are a bit out in the sticks though. Kipper been thinking bike carbs, how easy is it to swap??

Sleaford Mini centre. Actually in Heckington. 500 hp rolling road. Did a full day setting up my tiger on zetec/bike carbs for £100

Absolute bargain.

They also set up my megajolt

Thanks
Dan

EDIT: don't be put off with them out in the sticks. I found them very professional and did a cracking job for the price. £100 is nothing compared to good set up

Dan 8400 was thinking of them being in the sticks a sa disadvatage to drive too, i know they have a good reputtion, now to find someone with a trailer wanting some beer tokens.

Hi there , Fitting the carbs was a doddle, I just provided BOGG BROS with the carbs and two weeks later picked up the manifold.
Fitting is easy with making up the throttle cable the hardest part. You will have to fit a different filter and, as said in my other post, maybe cut a bigger hole in the bonnet.
I was really fed up with the Webbers, even after a rolling road session , which is'nt cheap, they soon went off.
The difference with the bike carbs is amazing.
Regards Denis.

dan8400 - 31/3/11 at 09:50 AM

I have a set of ZZR1100 carbs for £100. Not used by me since I bought them and are in good condition. No TPS though

Up to you mate

Dan

Dan would like to get the webers running properly then move up to bike carbs i think later on. Especially as the misfire i had/ have isnt guaranteed to be carb related.

dan8400 - 31/3/11 at 02:26 PM

No problem mate. I hope you get it sorted out. Would definately recomend Sleaford Mini Centre.

Good Luck

Dan

Isn't there a webber specialist in lincoln somewhere erm.....

However I have zero idea if they are any good. Would be good to know if they are decent.
