What tyre pressure
chrisxr2 - 13/4/11 at 02:54 PM

Had a search of the forum and not found a concrete answer. 1950 50 r15's on the haynes roadster, pinto engine im about 15 stone. What sort of day to day running tyre pressure??? Mxs5 with similar rubber is 28 psi. Thanks in advance.

I have 195/50/15 toyo proxes4 , and have them at 18psi all round.

Depends on the tyre type not just size, I run 18-20psi with standard road tires. Side wall stiffness is also a factor, hence different tyres give different results..

28 is a wee bit high then, will try 18 to 20. Thanks all.

Rightly or wrongly i also aim for around 18psi all round cold tyre pressure. R13 185 60 Bridgestone RE720's.

I also run simular in in the A038's front which are 185 and about the same in the rears althoughthere are 205.

No reason other than this appeared to be what others where running and gives the sort of deflection i would expect, my tyres started and heavly part worns and the cars use is suffenctly light that im unable to gauge if this is right from wear rated over the tyre. But on track the tyre temps dont feel awfull given that cars hardly setup and im using the back of my hand as a temp probe...
