What insurance company ?
steve m - 23/4/11 at 01:47 PM

My 7 will be back on the road next week,
what insurance companys seem to be the best for kit/component cars nowadays

also who to avoid!

and can you insure for only 6months? as i would never want to drive mine in the winter

regards

steve

I'm with 2gether, along with their breakdown service.

Have no complaints at all, and when I broke down in Northern France I got my costs back, no questions asked.

Overall, brilliant.

2gether as well.

cheapest for me

owelly - 23/4/11 at 02:58 PM

I had troubles with 2gether so now I play Adrian Flux off against the usual companies found in the mags. AF usually better whatever I get elsewhere. I have four vehicles with AF now!

Frank Pickles insurance, for me.

jacko - 23/4/11 at 03:42 PM

A/Flux for me this year as above play one against the others

Footman James came out significantly cheaper than AF for me .

steve m - 24/4/11 at 04:51 PM

£97 fully comp, does not sound bad at all!

I found 2gether the best for me

ChrisW - 24/4/11 at 06:25 PM

Worth noting boys that 2gether have not renewed their sponsorship with LB, so don't go with them (at least for now) on the grounds that you're helping the site out. Of course if it's a better deal then that's fine!

6 months ? and then not insured for 6 months so you can stand the loss if its not insured for the sake of maybe £100

Xtreme Kermit - 24/4/11 at 07:51 PM

I thought there was a recent legal change meaning that you have to keep cars ensured at all times even when sorn'd

£97 was for a year,!!

Also my car has been in my garage for the last 3 years not insured, so why would that make any differance?

And as for the Sorn, bit Yawwwn

If a car is sorned, it DOES NOT HAVE TO BE INSURED, as per the DVLA website, and my tax renewal for the tin top

steve m - 24/4/11 at 08:23 PM

BTW

The £97 was with frank pickles, fully comp for ONE year and limited mileage

it does help being 50, and the car has a 1700 xflow engine
