I am after a bolt that is M10 but needs to have a 14mm dia shaft. what are these type of bolts called?

like this one; the smooth part to be 14mm dia and the thread then reduces down to m10

Shouldered bolts?

as flibble says its a shoulder bolt

or you could use a spacer on an normal M10 if its not a critical part

Yes, technically it is a shoulder bolt...a bolt with a shoulder, but it's not really a recognised shoulder bolt as such...they have ground shoulders, short threads and no lead-in.

It's definitely a special bolt that you'll probably have to get from the main dealer (or specialised auto part place)....certainly not something you'll find at a regular nut and bolt/hardware store.

IMO of course.
