Has anyone built their own Mac1 se7en?
I have short listed Mac1 as a possible supplier of my first kit. The price seems to be a bit higher than some but Mac1 gave me confidence when i spoke
to them. Id love to hear from anyone with first hand experience of building their own rather than ordering a turn key car.
Thanks,
Darren.
Can't vouch for the kit but the guys that work there are top blokes, really helpful and nothing ever seems too much trouble. I know they were
somehow involved in building MKs before MK started selling turnkey cars, then they started making their own kit.
So like I say, not sure about their kit, although I would expect it would be top quality, and customer service is second to none. I would definitely
consider them if I made another kit.

i contemplated many kits from many companies in the end i went for
the mnracing vortx they seem to have the right package for me give em a try
if the quality of chassis i saw at a show lately is anything to go by, they are a very good outfit - don't know how typical that will be tho if you order one
The guys at mac1 have been very helpful when I've spoken to them, even if the delivery was a bit slow. Bear in mind the mac1 is "very
similar" to the MK which is obviously a tried and tested product. Don't count out GTS for value for money too.

Echo Neds post. Very helpfull, just hope they can sort my carbs out
Thanks for all the advice etc guys.
Ive just got back to PC after ordering the ZR kit. I am extremely impressed with the Mac#1 set up and the discussions i have had so far. Its fair
point that im paying a little bit more up front to start the project but being in the automotive business i also recognise their is a big difference
between cost and price!! I hope this proves to be a soild foundation for a trouble free build.
Problem now is waiting 4 weeks for collection day.
Is anyone else out there building a ZR?? Mine will be a Pinto one for now, but with the option of Zetec upgrade in the future. Does the engine sitting
further back make a noticeable difference?
Regards,
Darren.
sitting the engine as far back as you can should improve the weight/balance/cornerweights of the car.
