Unknown Chassis?
Dick Axtell - 28/8/04 at 07:13 AM

Collected my chassis from the powder-coaters yesterday. Had to wait 4 weeks!! This was because they are very busy, got loadsa work.
They p/c the chassis for the Grinnall Scorpion 3-wheeler, and also some specials (e.g. mid-mounted Rover V8-powered off-roader). Saw couple of unusual chassis there.
1: Apparently for Grinnall, this was for a 4-wheeled open sports type.
2: Clearly 7-esque, but not the usual chassis design (didn't have camera!!!). Appeared to be wider than book chassis, at the front end. Sierra diff mountings, so indy rear. Unusual, and very non-std front mountings for front suspension.

Looking forward to seeing finished vehicles.

Haven't seen owt on this model. Must be very special - to order.
Chassis appeared to built from larger RHS tubing, approx 30x30 mm. No scuttle "bridge" tho.

MangoGWS - they also had some coated 3-wheeler chassis in finished condition. V smart, & professional-looking.
As is mine, now!!

The Grinnal 4 wheeler was new early this year or the end of last year.
