First one from me is, is it true that becuase its newly built and registered it doesnt need a MOT for 3 years?

Need help guys so please dont hold back

Here are a few questions

* Are all the parts new, has it a 2012 plate?
* What is the history of the builder in doing such work?
* Why is it being sold?
* What is the overall impression of quality particularly the detailed things, like lack of bodges, has the custom parts of the build been done to a professional standard?
* What does it drive like?
* Is it comfortable to drive?
* This type is an amazing looking car, it has a wonderous space frame type chassis, does it's perfoprmance match it's looks?

I do know that its registered on a "P" plate from the year of the donor (MX5), other than the V5 what other paperwork should come with it?

Biggest thing is make sure the V5 is correct and not still classed as a MX5 !

More questions

* 16 Years old on donor car, what checks/refurbishmet to the engine/gearbox/transmission before transferring parts
* Any history of donor car like milage when broken?
* Any rolling road results from completed car?

If the answer to the above is negitive you are basically buying a 16 year old car with no known milage. Now that is not to say the car is not going to be fun but this sets the asking price in my opinion.

if its an exocet your after make me a sensible over priced offer and i may consider selling mine. it was only iva'd on monday should have plates next wed.

have got 4 cars at the moment and i need funds to build another so apparently one of them needs to be sold according to the other half problem is i cant decide as they are all my babies

on a serious note if you want to see how an exocet is built you can always buy my book that way you will know what you are looking at.

Thanks for all the advice guys, also the unashamed book "plug", fairly positive that your Exocet will be "way" more than I will be viewing.

Any more advice would be gratefully received.

Thanks again guys.

had to get the book plug in somewhere

what exocet are you buying have you been on the mev forum to see if the builder did a blog of the build.

Yes, been on the MEV website, full blog including various questions to other members so seems a comprehensive build over a period of time.

Am going tomorrow night and quite looking forward to it especially now that i am armed with some probing questions.
