Roller or Lotus?
Slimy38 - 25/10/13 at 09:38 AM

I'm in a hotel at the moment, doing a bit of work away from home. Yesterday morning I arrived at the office carpark to find that there were three absolutely gorgeous brand new Lotus's, along with a support van. I spent at least ten minutes admiring them, until a really big bloke turned up and I thought discretion would be the better part of valour!! I have to say a 63 plate Exige is quite something, and the exhaust note is exquisite...

And then when I got back to the hotel, it just so happened that the Rolls Royce owners club had planned a do at the hotel, so the car park was filled with classic cars. So again, another ten minutes admiring some absolute wonderful machinery.

But it did leave me with an interesting dilemma, which vehicles did I appreciate more? Without a doubt I'd have more fun in a Lotus, but the Rolls were simply astounding, more like works of art rather than mere transport.

What do you guys think, which one would be more interesting?

My interest in speed would always lead me to the Loti.
However, if I had the cash to have multiple expensive cars, a roller would certainly be auditioned.

Exige for me please without question.

For luxo-barge activities, I really quite fancy Piston Heads "YKYWT" this week...

VW Phaeton V10 TDI

Did the Rollers have a towbar? See where I'm heading?

Took a naturally aspirated exige out the other week followed by a turbod beast and the newer one wasa superb but build quality and parking of it was crap so I didnt buy either as I need to take it on hols and work etc too. high speed it was great, low speed and town it was worse than the seven.... so id rather have a roller

I agree - Rollers just exude quality. They literally are a different category of car, as you say, it's like a work of art. Just pure decadence.

That's why I bought one! The smell inside is epic.

That was the most surprising, the owners club were oddly young (to me anyway!), and they certainly seemed to party it up!

I'm 26, and only 2 years older than my Rolls

Pah... won't be a patch on the smell of glue inside the Exige!
