speedo cable

Hi All ! I read another post re availability of a 90 deg. speedo drive g/box (£54) Does anyone know another way of doing this cheaper ? Also ,using a 1300 cc g/box,the cable is FAR too long . is there another vehicle that has a shorter (cheap)cable alternative? ROD

Thanx for that ,I use speedy cables a lot for stuff. Just wondering about the 90 deg drive though?

You could drill a hole in the tunnel and run the cable across the drivers floor and then up the chassis rail to scuttle, secure it with a couple of P clips and cable ties. I did this as a temp measure whilst building my car and have never got around to changing it as it works perfectly

Paul I thought about doing that , but have now shortened the inner and outer cable ,and got a reasonable radius on it up against the tunnel . I f it breaks again I'll try your way .
