Hello,
Am not new here, but can't find my old log in details. After a bit of a break I have a new car:
I'm based in Bath and due to the unknown history I want to change the cambelt, something I have never attempted on an engine for some reason. The
engine is the vauxhall C20LET turbo and I think the procedure is the same as the XE?
Does anyone have any recommendations for kit specialists in the area to do the belt, tensioners, and water pump while I am at it? Alternatively if
anyone knows the drill and fancies a morning in the garage showing me what is what I'm happy to provide cash / beer / cake as required. I
don't know why having built several kits but i tend to steer clear of changing cambelts.
Thanks.

Not on your doorstep but not too far away, I would thoroughly recommend these chaps. They'll be preparing my Dax Rush for IVA at the appropriate
point:

Might be worth getting in touch with Ian Stent at Complete Kit Car magazine - he has one of those and has recently had a lot of work done. Think
he's based in the South west too
Contact details
I like that. Is it mid engine?
Stu
Hi Guys,
I have been in contact with Ian who has been very helpful.
Yes, It's mid engined and has 310bhp...
Thanks for the recommendation, a but far for me though, anyone know of anyone local? Don;t really fancy taking it to Vauxhall
XEs are one of the easiest engines ive ever worked on. LETs should be the same.
IIRC the ealy XEs/LETs had an adjustable tensioner for the cambelt, the later ones had a self adjuster so made life easier. I believe its easy to swap
between the two.
Worth a search on Migweb or PNG as they are great sources of info on GM engines.
Get a cambelt kit from www.autovaux.co.uk - genuine stuff @ non-genuine prices.
i've alwas liked the look of the Cyclone since I saw Stent's at Llandow a couple of years ago. Not your generic 7 and decent roof/doors.
That one will be a handfull with 310bhp though I'd imagine. Worst part of doing the belt will be access I imagine... Might need the engine out?
I've always liked them too - it's a bit of a tragedy what happened really
never seen one!
looks a nice car, any more pics?
lots of pictures and info here.
