Hi there everyone..... First post on Locost Builders.
Well three weeks ago I finally bought my first Locost, and after a two week shake down today was the first 'mod' day, first job was to ditch
the cable op. Clutch and go hydraulic. Here's a few photos of today's efforts if anyone's interested. Re made a light weight pedal, top
pivot assy., mounts for the cylinders even had time to plumb it all in for the drive home.
Next is the re-wire.
Top work and welcome!
Shaun
Welcome and looks a great job. Thats one meaty pedal did you make it ? Also what push type slave cylinder are you using ?
Hi there,
Yup all made.... Most defiantly the 'first draft' as I wasn't sure if the geometry would be correct, but the pedal feels very nice
now.... Both slave and master cylinder are Land Rover Defender items, cheap, alloy & plentiful!

Shame i dont have the room for a pull type as it was my original plan. How did you make the pedal ?
What's a pull type?
The pedal was made on a milling machine.
Nice neat job but why did you feel the need to convert to hydraulic clutch?
Paul
Hi Paul,
To be honest it was done a whim.... The cable broke about a week after having the car on the road, the previous owner/builder had no idea about
mechanical advantages and the pedal had a rediculas amount if travel.. So decided to go for a complete redesign... The nice thing about this setup is
that both the position of the pedal and the throw are completely adjustable, so great for quick track day changes or more controlled city driving.
