Turboed 7?
Spottty - 22/11/04 at 06:30 AM

Well, in about a month I move into my house with a 2 car garage. Needless to say I'm starting my Locost build.

The current plan is to use a 240sx (or a 180sx to you UK guys) due to the IRS, 4 wheel disc's and large aftermarket support.

I was wondering if anyone has seen a Turboed 7? It will just be a stock motor for the start but I want more than 140hp after awhile and a Turbo is pretty easy to add to that motor. I was wondering if the temp gets too hot under that small hood for a Turbo or if there is just no room (I will need a small intercooler as well).

Any info would be great! Thanks guys!

theres a few wankle engined 7's out there this one for starters there turboed so it might help you with your intercooler mounting etc http://www.mindspring.com/~robmk2/

Talk nicely to Hicost - he's running a turbo'd Cosworth, if I remember correctly...

Hicosts car is not a standard locost, about +6 iirc. he now runs the intercooler jacketed with water and it has it's own rad. there is enough space, but it's prob not the easiest of cars to work on as everything is quite tightly packed in..

oh yes and he runs upto 30psi boost...

Ned.

Im building a 200SX (240SX to you ! ! ) (1.8 turbo in the standard S13 UK car and pre-cat) powered Rush. See my photo archive. The most popular turbo motor people use is the 2.0 Cosworth.

Cheers

James

Thanks guys! the info was great. I would love to have that Cossie engine but finding one here is like going to a scrape yard and finding a Ferrari F40.

I have U2Ued you Jeffers. I'm really digging your build.
