Not just Locosts but sevens of all types. THere seem to be a bewildering variety of 7 replicas on the market these days and judging by the number of members on this board the roads should be well populated but I still seem to see very few. And this is despite living within ten miles of both Tiger and Luego. Does anyone have any idea how many sevens are supposed to be travelling the highways and byways of this sceptred isle?
Hi Browser,
I live in a small north Essex village with other tiny hamlets & villages around me,
( a busy night down the pub is when both customers bring their dogs ) yet there are two Westies,
a C/van and an original 7, plus mine in the making, within 4 miles.
But I agree, on a main road you never see one. Must be blatting round the back lanes I suppose.

Living within eyeshot of a busy road from Motorway to MK - I see probably 2 per week on average in the summer and at weekend. During the winter I
don't see many, I'll not explain why
Incedentally, I agree one reason for it's popularity is because Sevens are relatively cheap, but the character of the Seven outways the cost
factor for it's success in my opinion. It's such a quirky and lovable shape that appeals and makes it so distiguishable.
I live maybe a 1/4 mile away from a caterham service specialist in ashford middlesex, during the summer months i dont think a day passes when at least
one 7 goes past.
This guy obviosly knows his stuff as he seems very popular.
we are located in a very rural location ( north yorkshire moors ) and on a decent day, all you see are 7s, elises, and motorbikes, and occasionally a police scooby in hot persuit

where abouts in essex are you,im in aveley/south ockendon essex right near the lakeside shopping centre, the total number of sevens ive seen on the

Hi Rizla
There's none near you cos there all up 'ere.
Opposite ends of the county mate. I can spit into Suffolk from mine.
About 14 miles north of Braintree, or 16 mins, if your in my sons Cloverleaf.

i would suspect there are considerably more than 100 new regs each year.
All the companies selling the kits wouldnt survive otherwise..... and looking at the numbers you see at stoneleigh, there would be a fair few years
worth at that rate...
Id take a guess at 500 or so. There has got to be at least one a week 'i just passed sva' posts on this site alone....

Hi Dave. Or should I say woof woof
Seems to me that some irritating git seems to post at least once a week in the SVA section 'just passed sva!!!' when ive been building
off and on this overcomplicated monster for four years
Its gotta be at least every two weeks. Thats would be a quarter of your estimate.
If a kit car company was selling chassis / body kits for 1200 quid, and lets say that they sold another 800 quids worth of options, we have a nice
round 2k. Lests say that there is a 50% mark up in that 2k. Lets say they sell 25 kits a year (thats a further 25% of the 100 car market, just for one
company....)
so, we are looking at a margin of 25k for our fictitious company. Thats gotta pay vat, wages, lighting, rates, blah de blah.
I dont think you could run a business on that - even if it was a one man operation, who had laid the dog off....

PS - even if the margin was 100% - ie all the bits were zero cost - you would have a 50k a year business, which wouldnt really work
out.............
