Well here it is, took just over two years to build. Not a true locost but here is the story.

In November 2002 I bought an unfinished (an quite frankly rather bad condition) mark 1 tiger cat kit car. We loaded the chassis and the huge pile of bits into a LDV van and transported them to my waiting garage.
I had been involved in car mechanics on and off for many years (I had to I couldn't afford garage bills back then). My father had taught me to weld, use fibre glass and various other useful skills. But I had never done anything like this before.
Don't let anyone tell you it is easy to build a car of any sort, it takes long hours of hard work to get one finished. I nearly gave up on several occasions. The tiger turned out to be more of a locost task than I had thought. I ended up fabricating more parts than I bought and modifying the tiger design to my own ends to suit my pocket and my ideals. To be honest the with amount of welding and fibre glassing I did could have built a locost much easier !!

Anyway thanks to everyone on here who has helped me with the build (this is by far the most down to earth and friendly forum I have found, with honest helpful members to boot. )

MK R500 style seats (these were very interesting to fit !)
modified MK indy roll bar
custom fuel tank by bryn at allyfab
JK crystalights rear lights from SVC
front indicators from suzuki GSX of some sort
diy wiring loom built around nfauto fuse box
interior covered in cheap aluminium effect vinyl from ebay

So just a few minor deviations from the tiger spec !!

anyway just SVA to go and we are on the road.

all the photos are in my archive, it was a bit bright this morning and my digital camera is not the best .

So people don't lose heart you WILL get there in the end just DON'T give up.

Very nice wil,and it looks like you have managed to get the tiger rear arches to fit properly which i have never seen done before.

Well done mate. One of the nicest most sorted Tigers on the road I suspect.

I like the rear lights. Did you make up the mount for the fog light? The light look a bit like mine without the mountings I used and they do look good....now where's my hole cutter!

I made fog lamp mount by laying up some GRP inside a mackies ice cream tub (the bottom of which is exactly the right size for my fog lamp), then cut the required angle, glued some brackets inside to mount it to the car body. Bit of filler, sanding then paint, job done.
