Breakdown recovery for kit cars

Can anyone recommend break down cover for a kit car? Most only list the main brands of car. I hope i dont need it,,,,,but.........its a kit car

I got recommended “AutoAid Breakdown Recovery” last year when I asked the same question and bought it at £43.

I never had to ring them so can’t comment on if they where any good or not but the cover also included the wife on anything she was driving as-well.

They wanted £60 this year so I haven't renewed, that and I haven't finished putting it back to get her yet.

I got RAC with life insurance which covers whole family, not had to use them for the kit car but son has used them with a failed imobiliser on his motorbike and also when he rolled his car on ice and were excellent on both occasions

I use AA one year and Rac the next to get the best prices , done it for years

but a couple of years ago, i got breakdown cover, not sure who with, when I did my Mondeo insurance
It ONLY covered the Mondeo, and not me, nor any other cars, so be careful with the policys, and make sure you are getting what you want

Also, when I contacted Green flag, they said they don't cover kit cars, so im surprised that people use them

RAC. Been using them for years.
Recovered an AUDI A4 after cam belt failure, took it home then came back the next morning to take it to the garage.
Recovered the MK when the bike engine dropped a valve

Mine came with my classis car insurance. And used it twice inside a few days (first was failed prop, 600 mile recovery. 3 days later loom burnt, 5 minute recovery on a dolly)
Both were the AA,though the breakdown was booked though DAS
Couldn't really fault it. Ok, the 600mile recovery too a while but to be expected as they are restricted on driving hours, but we were offered a hire car.

Other ideas. We also have a Nationwide account that costs £12 a month, but covers 2 cars European wide,bas well as medical cover and so on. That works well for us on our tintops.

Breakdown cover adds £20 to premium with Graham Sykes have used the breakdown twice in about 8 years, always get separate cover for kits to avoid issues with too many calls if daily cars on same policy , wife always worries that she might not get rescued if I had a run of unreliable hobby cars!!

Just renewed my recovery with RAC using my Tesco vouchers.. then called them to check if my Ginetta was covered.

As it is personal cover not car cover, I am covered in any car as long as it is smaller than a transit type vehicle and not being used for business. When I asked to confirm what business meant, they said getting paid to drive eg taxi rather than travelling to a client or similar.
